A Church for the City Devotional

The way you view love is not how I created it to be received My children. My love for you is unending, it sees you for who you are in Me, it abounds in grace, it does not mock or accuse, it always protects and perseveres. It is a love that is with you and for you wherever you go. Many of My children have a hard time accepting My love for them. They feel like they don’t measure up, they have wounds and hurts from their past, they feel like they have to perform to earn My love, and they sometimes are scared to accept it because they are unsure of what this kind of love might do to their hearts and lives. My love is nothing to run away from. It’s a treasure, a gift, that I have given to all who will receive it by faith.

You didn’t do anything to earn this love. Therefore, nothing you do can take my love away. It is a love that purchased you through My own sacrifice on the cross. Think back to when you first received My love. Was your life all together? Did you have it all figured out? Were you free from sin? You were not. Yet I still chose to make you Mine. Receive My love for you. Know that I look at you and see a precious child whom I dearly love.
